Our colleague from the University Science and Technology of Hanoi (HPI) is visiting the HADAS group. She gives a talk on July 10 in room Grenoble INP - Ensimag, D 207, 14.00
Title: Data access based on context
Abstract (in French): L’accès à l’information est une des fonctions essentielles des systèmes d’information. Plus le volume d’information accessible est important, plus il est difficile à l’utilisateur d’y accéder. D’une part, il n’est pas toujours facile de formuler de requêtes du fait de la méconnaissance des structures des informations, et d’autre part, le système peut retourner beaucoup d’information ou aucune information à l’utilisateur. A fin de faciliter l’accès à l’information de l’utilisateur, nous proposons des techniques afin de rendre l’accès à l’information plus adapté au contexte d’exécution de requêtes.
Cet exposé présente quelques travaux de notre groupe dans le but de fournir un « meilleur » accès aux informations. La première partie présente les travaux liés à la recherche d’information (query suggestion, classification, summarization). La deuxième partie présente les techniques plus orientées vers la gestion de données (plus ou moins structurées) (top-k query, recommendation, location-based query)

Martin A. Musicante is associate professor at Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte-UFRN (Natal, Brazil). His main current research topics are XML database theory, Web Services and Programming Languages.
Martin A. Musicante will visit us in december to collaborate on new querying approach in the cloud based on map-reduced.

Visit of Dr. Dong Fang from Southeast University in China. He will come in the context of CASES project during the period 13-16 of May.

Dr. DONG' research interests largely lie in the areas of big data and cloud computing.

Visit of Associate Professor Tuyet Trinh VU, head of the 'Information Systems and Communication' option in the PFIEV Franco-Vietnamese program (http://pfiev.edu.vn), during the period June-July.

She will come to discuss training programs and methods, to discuss student exchange between Hanoi University of Science and Technology and Grenoble Institute of Technology, and to explore possible research collaborations with Hadas group.
